‘OWU Really Let Me Shine'

Senior to Share Final Week at OWU on Snapchat

“Don't resist change just because it is different. Face things without resistance, and you will be surprised at how new experiences become less stressful.”

That’s senior Mili Green’s best advice to the incoming Class of 2020. With 17 days till graduation, Green will give “ohiowesleyan” Snapchat followers an inside look next week on how to find joy in little moments throughout the day.

Here’s the 411 on Green, an OWU Resident Assistant (RA) also involved with the President's Club, VIVA Latin American Club, Newman Catholic Community, TerpsiCorps (dance group), and Early Childhood Center.

Hometown: Asuncion, Paraguay

Major(s): English and International Studies

What you love about OWU: I feel like OWU really let me shine by being who I truly am. I love being able to double major, and I love contributing to the university through clubs and part-time job opportunities.

What you plan to do after graduation: Taking a year off to participate in a fellowship before applying to grad schools for a focus on immigration.

Favorite place on campus: The little area between Ham-Wil and the alumni center.

What you are most proud of: I'm most proud of my ability to connect with people and making them feel comfortable enough to open up to me.

One goal you hope to accomplish in your lifetime: Write 100 creative essays.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Calm, deliberate, and care-free.

Why you chose Ohio Wesleyan: My cousin went here before me, and I heard only good things.

Favorite faculty/staff member & why: Professor (Karen) Poremski (of the English Department). She has all the compassion in the world. I respect her work so much.
