Ohio Wesleyan Honors 2018 Golden Bishop Award-Winners

Ohio Wesleyan University seeks to help students overcome obstacles, climb caverns, and move mountains to reach their potential as scholars, leaders, humanitarians, and engaged global citizens.

On April 21, the University honored members of the campus community for their successes in “Reaching New Heights in Leadership and Service” during the 2017-2018 academic year. Those recognized at the 2018 Golden Bishop Awards included:

Community Service Awards

  • The Ohio Campus Compact Charles J. Ping Student Service Award: Chloe Dyer ’18
  • The Sara Paullin Casto Student Humanitarian Award: Trevor Martin ’19
  • The Patricia G. Young Award for Leadership in Service to Children and Youth: Joshua Epkins ’19
  • The Bridge Builder Award:
    • Emily Howald ’18
    • Erin Fletcher, director of the Richard M. Ross Art Museum

Student Involvement Awards

  • Program of the Year: Turtle Trot & Fall Festival organized by Delta Zeta
  • Club Advisor of the Year: Mary Jeffries, associate chaplain for Catholic Community, Newman Community
  • Club | Organization of the Year: Rafiki wa Afrika
  • OWU Spirit Award:
    • Courtney Carmichael ’18
    • Kristen Nooney ’18
  • Outstanding First-Year Student Award: William Christy ’21

WCSA Awards

  • Best New Member Award: Jess Fenander ’20
  • Best Overall Member Award: Greg Margevicius ’20
  • Donald G. Chenoweth Friend of WCSA Award: Brad Pulcini, associate dean for student engagement and director of the first-year experience
