The new Delaware County Promise program provides a tuition-free OWU education for qualifying incoming high school students from Delaware County! All high school students who live in or go to school in Delaware County, who have a 3.5 or higher GPA, and whose family has an annual adjusted gross income of less than $100K can now go to Ohio Wesleyan tuition-free.

Tuition-Free!

New for Fall 2024, OWU's Delaware County Promise program means that all high school students who meet the following qualifications can attend Ohio Wesleyan tuition-free:

  • Live in or go to high school in Delaware County.
  • Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Family has an annual adjusted gross income of less than $100K.

To promote academic success and a full living-learning experience, students who receive the Delaware County Promise Scholarship must live on the OWU campus. The Delaware Promise Scholarship covers tuition, and students are responsible for room and board charges.

Why the Delaware Promise?

More than 180 years ago, the people of Delaware donated to the Rev. Adam Poe to purchase the Mansion House (known today as Elliott Hall) and found a college. Through their generosity and vision, Ohio Wesleyan University was chartered in 1842. OWU owes its existence to the people of Delaware, and it is fitting that we give back to the famility of our community.
