Ohio Wesleyan offers a $30,000 per year scholarship to international students. No additional application is required for the Bashford scholarship. This scholarship is not awarded on the basis of minimum GPA or test scores.
Full scholarships are not available at Ohio Wesleyan and families are expected to contribute at least $25,000 per year to cover the cost of housing, meals and tuition fees. For more specific questions, please contact the Office of International Admission at owuintl@owu.edu.
All scholarships and awards are provided annually for up to eight semesters of enrollment or until graduation (whichever comes first), provided the student remains in good academic standing. Scholarships do not increase each year though the cost of attendance may increase.
Merit awards may also be conferred by various academic departments, including Fine Arts, Music, Theatre and Dance, Economics, and Education. These scholarships are awarded based on competitive review (portfolio, audition, interview) by respective departments. Awards vary.
Need based aid for international students is highly competitive and not guaranteed.
Although OWU strives to meet need for accepted international students, full need is not guaranteed and need based aid awards are limited. We require all international students show they can provide a minimum family contribution of at least US$25,000 per year towards their educational costs.
Any international student interested in applying for need based aid must complete the online financial form accessible through your application portal. This form is a checklist item required to complete your application and allow for decision review.
Application for financial aid is reviewed only at time of admission. Students cannot apply once enrolled.
On-campus student employment is possible for up to 20 hours per week, however, jobs are not guaranteed. Students generally work 8-10 hours per week depending on the campus job and the hours they are available to work. International students are not allowed to work off campus, per U.S. Government regulations.
