Merit Scholarships and Awards
Merit aid is based on various measures of achievement, not on financial need. Students are awarded the highest monetary-valued scholarship for which they are eligible to receive. All merit scholarships are annually renewable for up to three years of subsequent full-time enrollment after the initial year, provided that recipients meet certain minimum academic criteria.
Our International Scholarship ranges between US $10,000 and US $20,000 per year.
Merit awards are also conferred by various academic departments, including Fine Arts, Music, Theatre and Dance, Economics, and Education. These scholarships are awarded based on competitive review (portfolio, audition, interview) by respective departments. Awards vary.
Need Based Aid - OWU Grant
International students may be eligible for limited need based aid. Apply for financial aid by submitting the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) along with your application and other required documents during the application stage. Learn More.
Application for financial aid is only reviewed at time of admission. Students cannot apply once enrolled.
OWU makes every effort to meet unmet need for accepted students as defined by evaluating the ISFAA.
Financial aid awards covering the entire cost of attendance are extremely rare and very competitive.
On campus student employment is possible up to 20 hours per week. However, jobs are not guaranteed. Students can average $2,000 per year. International students are not allowed to work off campus, per US government regulations.
