Welcome to Ohio Wesleyan University. We’re thrilled you’re here!

The history of Greek life on many campuses may be similar, but the atmosphere pervading OWU’s sororities and fraternities is definitely unique. This may be due the diverse student population that Ohio Wesleyan has attracted for many years. The fascinating melting pot of young people that are drawn to OWU contribute an enriching variety of backgrounds, cultures, viewpoints, and attributes.

Whatever the reason, the Greek Life environment at Ohio Wesleyan is definitely something that every student should at least explore. All of our organizations hold high ideals and values that impact our members and our community. Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Brotherhood / Sisterhood are just a few of the tenets by which we, as Fraternity and Sorority men and women, strive to live. Not only do we have the benefit of the strengths and values of the different individual Fraternity and Sorority organizations on campus, but the Panhellenic and Interfraternity community feeling has always been something special here, and we hope to continue to grow and build upon that in the years to come.

Ohio Wesleyan currently has five National Panhellenic Council chapters on campus: Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. While all of these women’s organizations share similar values and a love for the Ohio Wesleyan community, each chapter presents a unique sisterhood experience that should be explored by all unaffiliated women. Women’s recruitment at Ohio Wesleyan is a year-round process. During the fall semester all unaffiliated women may, and are highly encouraged to, attend all of the five women’s chapters’ events; however, only those students with at least one semester of an Ohio Wesleyan GPA will be eligible to be considered for a bid, an invitation of membership into a chapter. Our major recruitment period at OWU is our Formal Recruitment period, which we hold during the first weekend of the spring semester.

As scholarship is an integral part of every women’s chapter here at OWU, there is a minimum GPA requirement for membership for each of the NPC chapters. Every woman who registers for Spring Recruitment, however, will be eligible to attend the first round of events, regardless of her GPA. We as Fraternity and Sorority women want every unaffiliated woman to have the opportunity to learn about all of the benefits of women’s Fraternity and Sorority life at OWU.

Thank you so much for your interest in Greek life, and we look forward to meeting you. The opportunities for growth and friendship are boundless, and we wish you the best in your exploration!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about Recruitment or women’s Fraternity and Sorority life in general, please don’t hesitate to contact us at panhellenic@owu.edu.

Sincerely,

Panhellenic Council
