About

Ramon Carreno's most recent research has focused on the systematics of parasitic nematodes in mammals, birds, and arthropods, as part of a broader interest in wildlife parasitology and wildlife diseases.

Research approaches incorporate light and electron microscopy, as well as cloning and DNA sequencing.

Dr. Carreno also serves as Ohio Wesleyan's pre-veterinary medicine program adviser.

Areas of Interest / Expertise

  • parasite taxonomy
  • wildlife diseases
  • diagnostic parasitology
