Exploring Responses to Environmental Change: From Alaska's Plants to Peru's Wildlife

Come hear from students who participated in a Travel-Learning Course and students who completed a Theory-to-Practice Grant on how plants and animals adapt to environmental change from the Alaskan tundra to Peru's Amazon rainforests. Students in BIOL 355 (Plant Responses to Global Change) spent the semester studying how plant growth and survival are influenced by environmental and climatic changes. They then traveled to the Alaskan tundra to see these changes in action. Another group, who received a TPG, monitored biodiversity and engaged in wildlife conservation in the Amazon rainforest.
