About

Matthew McCurdy received his B.S. in Mathematics from Centre College in 2015. He earned his Ph.D. from Florida State University in 2020, focusing on applied and computational mathematics with an emphasis on fluid dynamics, and then taught at Trinity College before joining Ohio Wesleyan's faculty in 2022. His current research interests deal with how groundwater and surface-water interact, and how heat can impact these interactions. Matthew thoroughly enjoys teaching mathematics. From working with high school students in Rio de Janeiro to second-grade students in rural Kentucky, he has taught in a variety of classrooms. His favorite courses to teach are applied math and introductory Calculus classes.
