TPG Proposal Overview

Applicants are encouraged to work together to make the application as strong as possible. One application will be submitted for each project. Each application will include a proposal and a budget.

Proposal Element Details

1. Project Objectives (125 words): Describe the main objectives and/or outcomes for the proposed project.
2. Project Description (750 words): Provide a complete description of the project including all planned activities and itineraries or timelines. Describe how the proposed project furthers your goals and connects to the OWU Connection. If applicable, articulate the theory, you plan to address in the project. 
3. Evaluation, Assessment, and Sharing ( 125 words): Describe how, if funded, the project will be evaluated after completion to assess how the main objectives and/or outcomes have been met. Additionally, explain how you will share your experience with others.
4. Personal Statement (500 words): Address the following questions — What motivates you to undertake the project? How are you prepared to complete the project? (This preparation and experience may include completed or in-progress coursework, research, co-curricular activities, creative endeavors, practical experiences, or other academic or scholarly work.) Each applicant will complete this individually within the application form.

Proposal Budget

The budget should be detailed and carefully researched. A successful budget will be itemized and include all expenditures needed to complete the project. This is a necessary component of the application.

Types of Projects

Funding May Be Requested For:

• Travel to learn and understand more about the culture, socioeconomic conditions, health and/or other environmental conditions that vary across the world
• Internship opportunities
• Independent research and/or development of research projects designed to enhance student learning in the laboratory, archive, and field
• Creative projects in the fine and performing arts
• Cultural immersion and/or volunteer experiences that enrich the understanding of diverse cultures and the importance of civic engagement

Tips for Submission

• Check out the Frequently Asked Questions for Theory-to-Practice Grant.
• Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
• If other funding has been received or applied to support any part of the project described, please disclose this information in the proposal narrative and account for it in the total project budget.
• A member of the faculty or staff who is part of a proposed group project should normally be the primary applicant and not a co-applicant.
