Club Sports

Ohio Wesleyan University and the Athletics Department are dedicated to providing a variety of recreation and sport activities for all students. This includes opportunities to participate in individual and/or team events and competitions. The Club Sports program is designed to enrich the University experience while providing a training ground for leadership and organizational development, fiscal management, teaching through sport, and overall learning through support of the University community.

Club sports are organized by students with the support of the Athletic staff. These organizations: 

  • Elect their officers
  • Create and update their constitution and bylaws
  • Recruit members
  • Request facility space for training
  • Coordinate travel arrangements in collaboration with staff
  • Schedule contests with teams
  • Coordinate and contract officials in collaboration with staff 
  • Manage their budget

Cheerleading

Competitive, challenging, and fun, the OWU Cheerleading Squad cheers on OWU's football and men's basketball team at all home games.

Club Soccer

This is a co-ed soccer club that is looking to compete against other similar soccer clubs across the region. They hold training sessions and also play for fun in their spare time. All experience levels are welcome to join – for the fun, the competition, and for the sport!!

Equestrian

The OWU Equestrian Team is a horseback riding team with both English and Western riding options. Every level of rider can join to ride in fun weekly lessons or to compete against other collegiate teams year-round.

The MCC focuses on learning the authentic fighting styles of medieval Europe. Members of all experience levels learn and practice variety of historical techniques in a fun and casual manner.

The Men's Ultimate Frisbee Team, known as the Firedogs,  participates in Frisbee tournaments around Ohio and the country.
