“Entering, Building, and Exiting Community” by Urban Bush Women

Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 4-7:30 p.m.

Location: Jannuzi Dance Studio, Simpson Querrey Fitness Center
Pre-registration required.
In partnership with OWU’s Department of Theatre & Dance

The Urban Bush Women seek to inspire artists, activists, audiences and communities through performances, education and community engagement.  This interactive workshop is for students who have worked with communities other than their own through one of OWU’s community service learning programs, alternative spring break trips, or a Theory-to-Practice Grant or Travel-Learning Course experience. Participants gain tools and methodologies for entering, building, and exiting community, including navigating a variety of assumptions regarding community-based practices. This workshop is not a presentational how-to guide about community relations. It is a dialogic mapping of experience using tools that may include theater games, writing, and movement exercises.
