International Transfer FAQ:

What is a Course-by –Course Evaluation and why do I need one?

A Course-By-Course Evaluation lists all post-secondary subjects with their corresponding credit hour value and U.S. grade equivalents.

Why do I need to have my credentials evaluated?

Ohio Wesleyan can only transfer courses with a similar equivalency (subject matter). In order to maintain consistency across international institutions, and to make sure all students are being treated equitably, an official evaluation allows all students to transfer in the same credit for the same course.

How long does it take to obtain a professional Credit Evaluation?

The standard processing time for a credential evaluation is seven (7) business days after receipt, review, and approval of all documents and payment in full to the professional agency.

What documents do I need to send for evaluation?

Required Documents for Evaluations vary based on country. You can find the documents you need to provide for a course by course evaluation on the various web sites (SpanTran, IEE, ECE, or WES).

What if my documents are not in English?

If your documents are not in English, you must submit precise word-for-word English translation together with your foreign-language documents. Many evaluation agencies do not provide translation services. Translations prepared by the school or university that you attended or by authorized translators in your home country are acceptable.

Can't I get accepted first and then have my credits evaluated?

No – we require the official course-by-course evaluation at the time of application.
