With OWU’s emphasis on residential life, you’ll quickly feel “at home” here. Scheduled dorm and campus activities will bring you into frequent contact with fellow students, faculty and staff -- making connections that can last a lifetime.

First-year students receive a housing assignment and are randomly matched with roommates. Later, you’ll be assigned a priority number, based on class year, which allows you to choose your roommates and residence hall. You also can apply for other on-campus housing as a sophomore, junior or senior. At OWU, students are expected to live on campus all four years.

Stuyvesant Hall

As OWU’s oldest residence hall, Stuyvesant Hall (commonly known as “Stuy”) embodies the tradition and history of the college. Constructed in 1930 with a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Stuyvesant, the hall underwent a 15-month renovation several years ago, reopening in August 2012.

Stuyvesant features three wings built around a courtyard, a bell tower, and a “smoking lounge” from the 1920’s (now a performance space known as the Milligan Hub, since all Ohio Wesleyan residence halls are smoke-free). Coed by suite, Stuy accommodates 237 men and women, sophomores through seniors.
