LLI Policies & Procedures

Spring 2023 Term Information & Registration

Registration for the Spring 2023 LLI term begins on February 20, 2023. 

All previous LLI participants will receive email notifications about upcoming slates of classes and registration instructions. If you have not previously participated in an LLI term and wish to receive information on future terms, please share your name and email address with the LLI office at LLI@owu.edu.

Scholarships

The Lifelong Learning Institute of Ohio Wesleyan University is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships thanks to generous support from SourcePoint. Each $50 scholarship will be directed toward the Lifelong Learning Institute total registration fee of $75 for per term.

Applicants need to meet the eligibility requirements and complete an application to be considered with scholarships limited to one per approved applicant per year. Scholarship applications will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis. As scholarship funds are limited, the Lifelong Learning Institute will not be able to meet all requests and submission of a scholarship application does not guarantee scholarship assistance. The information you provide will be held in confidence.

Guest Policy

The LLI welcomes as many registered attendees as space allows. The LLI will attempt to accommodate one-time guests of registered attendees if class space allows.  Attendees need to first ask the Facilitator of the class to which you wish to bring a one-time guest to inquire about available seating and obtain a GUEST PASS before the date of the specific class. The LLI reserves the right to refuse unregistered guests.

Refunds

Registration refunds will be made if the request is received by the LLI at least a week before the first day of the term for which you registered. For the Spring 2023 term, the refund request needs to be received by the LLI on or before March 20, 2023. Email LLI@owu.edu for more information.

Class Cancellation

Weather-Related
The LLI will follow any closings or delays announced for Delaware City Schools when inclement weather occurs and apply to LLI scheduled classes. Attempts will be made to reschedule any cancelled classes. 

Non-Weather-Related
On the rare occasion where OWU must cancel classes for non-weather related circumstances such as electrical or heating/cooling issues, the LLI will post a notice on this website and emails will be sent to registrants.

Name Badges

A name badge for each in-person LLI term will be distributed on the first day of class along with a lanyard for new LLI registrants. Attendees are requested to wear the lanyard with name badge to each class. Attendees who have a lanyard from a previous LLI term are encouraged to reuse it.

Parking

Ohio Wesleyan provides free campus parking passes upon request for each in-person term an individual is registered. The parking pass is to be displayed on the dashboard of the individual’s car so it is visible to the OWU Pubic Safety Office. View our campus map for more information.

Promotional Use of Image and Name (aka Photography Policy)

LLI participants grant and give the Lifelong Learning Institute of Ohio Wesleyan University the right to use their image (photograph or video), with or without participant(s)’ name(s) for the purpose of presentations, advertising, publicity, and promotion. Personal photography or taping is prohibited during classes.
