Greetings from Ohio Wesleyan's Residential Life Office. The staff looks forward to welcoming you to campus and inviting you into our residential community.
OWU is a residential, liberal arts university; therefore, learning outside the classroom is a valued part of the OWU experience.
Full-time students reside on campus unless they meet housing exemption criteria (learn more about our residency requirement). We believe your time spent as a resident of the University community is an important part of your educational experience. To reserve a space in the residence halls, you need to have paid your Enrollment Deposit of $200 ($250 for international students).
To complete the room assignment process, you must complete the online housing application, which will be active soon. Your login information for the housing application will be emailed to you.
We attempt to match you with a person or people who have similar preferences, making it important that you provide accurate information on these documents. Please carefully read the Housing Contract, displayed when you finish applying for housing online. The contract explains the rules and regulations of the residence halls.
As a first-year student, you are automatically a member of the YearOne community.
First-year students also need to complete and submit medical information to the Student Health Center.
Note: Students are required to comply with health and safety rules, policies, and guidance adopted by Ohio Wesleyan University or relevant governmental authorities in response to public health crises, including COVID-19. Students are required to comply with requests from the Division of Student Engagement and Success to adopt COVID-19 control measures, including, but not limited to, required wearing or face masks or observance of social distancing protocols. Ohio Wesleyan University reserves the right to take de-densifying and other disease management measures it deems appropriate, including, but not limited to, relocating some or all residential students to alternative housing. Ohio Wesleyan University reserves the right to implement and modify student residence cleaning protocols, including by temporarily reassigning students to other residences or temporarily restricting access to their residences, to address COVID-19 or other public health emergency. Dining service, including where and how it will be offered, is subject to modification at Ohio Wesleyan University’s sole discretion to address public health concerns or other emergencies, including COVID-19. Ohio Wesleyan University may limit the occupancy of dining halls or the amount of time students may reside within dining halls and may make other operational adjustments needed to address health and safety concerns. Such measures do not constitute a termination of a residential student’s housing and/or dining agreement(s). Upon reasonable notice, which may be as short as a day or a week, depending on the circumstances, Ohio Wesleyan University reserves the right to terminate housing contracts due to public health emergency needs, including COVID-19. In the event Ohio Wesleyan University terminates housing contracts due to public health concerns, Ohio Wesleyan University will offer fair and reasonable reimbursements for impacted students as Ohio Wesleyan University deems appropriate based on information available at the time.
