Religious Life Awards
Each of the Ohio Wesleyan Religious Life Awards honors an individual who exemplifies a faithful witness to the ethical, spiritual, and missional values of Ohio Wesleyan, as delineated in the University Charter of 1842 and the Statement of Aims, and as demonstrated in leadership both on campus and in the community, including church, synagogue, mosque, temple, or other faith community affiliation.
Please take a moment to nominate a graduating student and/or faculty or staff member who has demonstrated involvement worthy of the award or awards listed below. Anyone on campus or on the Board of Trustees is invited to submit nominations. Nominations should be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025 to be considered by the award selection committee. These institutional honors are presented each year at the Baccalaureate Service. This year's service will be held at 7:00 pm on May 9, 2025 in Gray Chapel.
Senior Class Awards
Peace and Justice
The Chaplain James Leslie Award recognizes outstanding leadership in the promotion of peace and justice on the campus and in the community.
Interfaith and Intercultural
The Chaplain Jon Powers Award recognizes outstanding leadership in the promotion of interfaith and intercultural understanding on campus and in the community.
Christian Mission
The Bishop F. Gerald Ensley Award recognizes outstanding leadership in Christian missional activity on the campus and in the community.
Leadership in Service
The Spirit of Wesley Award recognizes outstanding leadership in service on the campus and in the community.
Spiritual Leadership
The Chaplaincy Award recognizes outstanding leadership in the cultivation of intentional spiritual community.
Faculty and Staff Awards
Faculty of the Year
The Bishop Francis Emner Kearns Award recognizes outstanding faculty scholarship, service, and leadership, both within the classroom and in the community, which exemplifies the historic mission of Ohio Wesleyan to offer "a quality of scholarship, leadership, and service that enriches for Church and society."
Employee of the Year
The Robert and Bette Meyer Award recognizes service and leadership that exemplifies the historic mission of Ohio Wesleyan to offer "a quality of scholarship, leadership, and service that enriches for Church and society."
