Respondents found responsible for violating University rules may appeal to the University Appeals Board. When complainants in the original hearing are individual students and student organizations they also have the right to appeal an unfavorable decision. The Appeals Board does not hear appeals in sexual assault or sexual harassment cases.
Appeals are limited to:
- A review of the procedures;
- Appropriateness of the sanction; and
- Submission of new evidence
Students interested in appealing a conduct decision are required to submit a Student Conduct Appeals Form to the Student Conduct Office within seven(7) business days from the date of the outcome letter for the conduct hearing. Upon receipt of the appeal request the Office of Student Conduct notifies members of the University Appeals Board. The Board must hear any appeal by an individual student or campus organization that has been suspended or expelled from the University. Appeals of cases involving lesser sanctions are heard at the discretion of the Appeal Board. A majority of the members of the Board must agree to hear a case for the appeal to be heard in cases that do not involve suspension or expulsion. At the request of the Coordinator of Student Conduct, the Appeals Board may decide to reverse a finding based on a review of the written record, without holding a hearing. (To read the entire Appeals Policy, please refer to the Student Code of Conduct.)
Any student that receives a citation for an alleged parking violation(s) may appeal the citation through the Student Conduct System.
All appeal requests must be submitted within seven (7) business days of the date of the citation.
Request a Parking Appeal
All parking appeal requests are reviewed and decided by a panel consisting of the Coordinator of Student Conduct and the student advisors. A letter regarding the outcome of this review is then sent to the student’s email address. All decisions made by this panel are final.
Parking Appeal Denied?
Any student whose parking appeals are denied has twenty (20) business days to pay the fine. Fines can be paid online, or by cash or check at the Cashier’s window (University Hall, room 011). Any fine not paid by the deadline is posted to the student’s account without additional notice.
