The 2024 election is widely considered to be one of the most important and contentious in many years. And it may be a stressful time for students, faculty, and staff - and for people across the nation. We encourage the entire OWU community to vote and participate fully in the U.S. electoral process. On this website we provide information about voting and details about events and resources you may find helpful before, during, and after election day.
As of April 7, 2023, it is now required to have a photo ID to vote in-person, early or on Election Day, in Ohio. Accepted forms include unexpired OH driver's licenses, the OH ID, U.S. passports, and U.S. military identification. Adjusting your permanent residence may impact your eligibility for certain financial aid specific to out-of-state students. Therefore, if you do not already have accepted photo ID for Ohio/OH voter registration, and if you are not an Ohio resident, do not apply for Ohio state ID for voting purposes.
OWU has created a Voter Tool to help you understand the voting options specific to your circumstances and preferences. Please note it is ultimately your responsibility to verify any information you find in the tool.
