The James Leslie Center for Peace and Justice honors the profound witness to peace and justice that Chaplain Emeritus James Leslie provided to the OWU community and ensures that his commitment to these issues remains a core value of Ohio Wesleyan.

The Center for Peace and Justice is built on three foundational pillars:

Servant Leadership, Restorative Justice, and Transformative Reflection.

Our leadership grows from a desire to empower others by restoring the dignity and humanity that is often stripped away by oppression, objectification, and greed.

We experience transformation in ourselves by honest reflection on our experiences, our biases, and the relationships we form. We work for justice, not for the marginalized, but in solidarity with the marginalized.

Over the years, this commitment has taken various forms as the needs of the world, nation, church, community, and campus change.
