Mission statement

The Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship’s mission is to enhance academic programs and provide real world opportunities to create future generations of business and world leaders.

The Woltemade Center provides unique opportunities to students within the Economics and Business Department and across all campus majors and disciplines, serving as a catalyst in the development of interdisciplinary programs, across the university.

In developing programs and activities, The Woltemade Center uses criteria that significantly reflect the aims of Ohio Wesleyan University: stimulation of faculty and student scholarship related to teaching and learning; the integration of theoretical and practical knowledge; the prominence of values and ethics in liberal learning; the importance of international education; and the significance of service to community and society.

By strengthening the opportunities available to students, the Economics and Business Department, interdisciplinary work, and community relations, The Woltemade Center helps Ohio Wesleyan University attract and retain students, raise financial and other resources, and generate appropriate publicity.

In addition to our scholarship and grant opportunities, The Center also:

  • Seeks out and promotes internships for our students
  • Presents an exceptional speaker series
  • Assists a number of student organizations, such as the Marketing Group and the Investment Club.
  • Offers several premiere programs that allow students to network with global business leaders
