Psychologist, University Faculty, and Clinician

Tasiana Njau (BSc., Msc) is a psychologist and a faculty member at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, as well as a clinician at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She is trained in mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment, and has received additional and more focused trainings in life coaching, addiction, research, and teaching methodology. She has consulted for the U.S. embassy in Tanzania on a wide range of projects and also has served as a visiting clinical psychologist at the AgaKhan Hospital in Tanzania. She specializes in various psychotherapeutic interventions, gender-based violence, psycho-trauma, and torture. Her current job description entails teaching, conducting research, and consultancy both in clinical and various mental health projects.

She is the Secretary General of the Mental Health Association of Tanzania. Her research interests are in adolescent mental health and addiction. Her most recent workshop/training was with the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.
