Sponsored by the Woltemade Center, the Grants for Travel Program is available to Ohio Wesleyan students who are interested in studying economics, business, and entrepreneurship more closley. The purpose of the program is to encourage and support student travel for business, economics, or entrepreneurial conferences or research.
Grants are available for up to $750 per academic year. Interested students who have identified an appropriate conference or travel research opportunity are encouraged to apply.
Grant Requirements and Qualifications
- Students must be currently enrolled at OWU during the time of their travel. Graduating seniors cannot apply for funding after graduation.
- Travel must be to explore the fields of economics, business, and entrepreneurship.
- Students must be a declared major or minor in the Economics and Business Department.
- Open to OWU students who have achieved an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Students must show financial need to receive funding.
- Funding must be requested at least one month prior to travel.
- The Grants for Travel does not cover school tuition, on-campus room and board, student loans, or expenses such as books and laptops.
- Students must be in good financial standing with the university.
- Students can only receive one travel grant per academic year.

Once your application is received, please allow up to two weeks for review and response from the committee.
Grants for Travel Award
Students who are awarded a Grants for Travel Award must sign a contract agreeing:
- To complete the research or conference travel for the period proposed
- To submit a 1-2 page summary report of your experience
- To submit a report summarizing how the grant funds were expended and coordinating receipts
- To submit a high-resolution photograph of yourself to post on the Center's website and social media accounts
- To return the amount of the Grant for Travel Award if you fail to comply with any of the terms of this contract
